Roast turkey

White plate with slices of turkey, stuffings, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots, Brussel sprouts and pigs in blankets. Silver cutlery. On white place mat.

Recipes for the perfect roast turkey appear every year in magazines, newspapers and social media so I won’t confuse the issue by including yet another one.  I have tried various recipes and followed much advice over the years, and they’ve all been very good.  What you serve with your turkey is personal and families tend to have their own traditions.  In England, it is usually served with brussel sprouts, roast potatoes, parsnips, pigs in blankets, stuffings such as chestnut or lemon and parsley, bread sauce and cranberry relish but, again, hundreds of recipes appear each year for these too.
I have not given calories for this as it’s not really possible to determine quantities. It all depends how much you have on your plate. And, frankly, who wants to worry about calories at Christmas!
